Practicing What I Preach

I know that it’s been a while and that a blog without constant posts looks abandoned, but it isn’t. I’ve just been practicing what I preach while getting side tracked by all of the struggles that life has to offer.

Who has time to write something every night anyways? I know I sure don’t.

Here I am though, back for some more forays into the written world. And here, is what has been happening to me since I last posted…

I started using drugs. Yes! Illegal ones! Ones that will make the neighbors hate you. Drugs that people have been told to fear for the past 100 years. Drugs called Cannabis, to be more precise.

Why? Because I wanted to end my life. All of the shit that I wrote on this site was just an effort to keep myself happy and content with life, to try and show myself how to live a good life and how I can keep living happily ever after. Especially during those depressive times. Although being manic really gets the energy flowing for some creativity.

I figured that since I was willing to kill myself, I should be willing to do anything. This was the beginning of a downward slide that led to me achieving complete independence and actually accomplishing something in my life that’s worth bragging about, home ownership.

It’s only been since April 21 2017 that I started smoking pot and since then, my life has changed drastically. Like I said, home ownership, it might be small and cheap, but at least I can call it my home.

I might have forgotten to mention that it’s about 2000 km away from where I previously was. Half way across Canada. I sold all of my stuff, packed the rest into a small car and headed East. And that is a story for another time.

Now I’m not completely blaming drug use for this momentous leap forwards in my life, but it certainty didn’t hurt. It just helped liberate some thoughts that needed to get out.

I think what really did it, was an article that I wrote. It brought about a different mindset. ZapSmass.com/optimistic-nihilsm really brought out something in me that I didn’t know existed. Something that I still don’t entirely know how to describe. Some kind of empowering darkness. Or maybe a lessening of my fear of the unknown.

I felt as though I could do anything that I put my mind to. I still hate rejection, but now I don’t fear it. So without fear holding me back, I tried and failed to get three properties, before I got this one. It was an emotional roller coaster that I was more than happy to ride because even though I wasn’t winning. I still was enjoying the ride.

Even though I wasn’t winning. I still was enjoying the ride.

So I sit here once again, in front of the keyboard with some sativa in my head and creativity in my heart, trying to think of interesting things to captivate an audience, with nothing but the sound of the keyboard to keep me company. Writing. My craft, my hobby, my obsession. I have been writing since I was a child. I write so much better than I speak but that’s just something that needs to be worked on, time for this sim to head over to the mirror.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you want to know more about me and my works, contact me. If you want to support me and my work, turn your ad blocker off. Thank you.

Optimistic Nihilsm

WARNING: Read this post at your own peril. It is probably just going to be the inane ramblings of a madman.

So lets think about life. Lets think about those deep and painful thoughts that burn you. Lets think about existence…

I have a good friend that tells me, “Oooh! Can Do! Existence is pain.” and occasionally I agree with him, or it, i’m not sure. Just because his prefix is Mr. doesn’t meant that I’ve seen his genitalia.

So is he right?

Of course he is.

Existence is pain. Life is nearly meaningless, eat, sleep,  fu*k, sh*t, repeat. Welcome to my logic, welcome to the thought patterns that have kept a gun to my head for the past two decades.

Would you like to know what kept me from pulling the trigger?

Pain.

Enjoying it.

Thriving on the hatred of existence that I developed even before my pubes showed up.

Right.

How crazy is that. It’s not. It’s calm rational logic.

“Pain is only weakness leaving the body.”

Have you heard that one before? I know I have and I am not going to bother to look it up. We both found our way here. There is no need to lie about the fact that motivational quotes are the currency of the online inspirational business.

Motivational quotes are the currency of the online inspirational business. – Justin G

See, what did I tell you, it’s like bacon to a begging pug dog.

Any ways, before I was so rudely interrupted by my own thoughts, I was telling you all about how to enjoy some pain and misery.

…The gym. Perfect example. Lifting, or pumping or what ever the kids are calling it these days is the perfect example of growth through pain.

It sucks, it’s boring, but the results are so worth it.

Don’t say it. You are making an excuse to not do it.

How dare you lie to yourself like that?

I don’t care what you do. This article is being tossed out into the online world so I can feel better about my career behind this keyboard, don’t think that I’m going to hold your hand.,

That was painful wasn’t it. Did it hurt you to hear me say that I don’t care about you?

Well…  I do care about you. but lets think about what you would have to do if myself or anyone else didn’t care enough to even write an article about improving yourself.

You would just have to go out and figure it out for yourself, wouldn’t you?

That’s right.

Growth Through Pain

I know you can do this. You just have to believe in yourself. You have never given 100%, have you?

That’s your homework for today, actually, lets make that your homework for the rest of your life.

Always give 100%.

And remember, failure is not nearly as painful as never trying.

Motivation is Like Bathing

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” – Zig Ziglar

This is something that needs to be refreshed as often as possible. Motivation is definitely a tricky concept, it should come from within but more often than not, it doesn’t.

This is why Zig Ziglar recommends it daily.

So lets think about how we can stay motivated every day. What images can you put in your mind  and routines can you put into your life that will help you stay motivated?

The images that help me the most with my daily motivational renewal are written ones. Generally in the form of quotes work the best for me, but short stories about inspirational things do the trick as well.

Pictures of mountain tops and people surfing sure are nice, but they have never really inspired me to keep working toward my dreams of writing full time.

That’s why I like to read quotes.

How about routines to stay motivated?

Definitely. If you are trying to get fit, a routine is going to be your best friend. You are going to know that it is the only way to achieve your fitness goals and it will definitely help you stay motivated.

Unless you deviate from the routine…

How about the routine of working towards anything everyday? Sometimes this might feel like a chore, but as long as you realize that conscious practice makes perfect, you realize that you are slowly working towards your goals. I can’t think of anything more motivating than achieving my dreams.

So now that you know how to add a little boos of motivation to your life, you can get back on track and get something done.

It’s Time to Change Your Thinking

For the past little while I have been having a discussion with myself about what I truly want in life.

I made a list of things that I wanted. It was not so much things like cars and motorcycles, but ways of life that were on my “I want” list. I wanted residual income. I wanted a fit body and a great girlfriend that would be worth spending the rest of my life with. I wanted financial freedom and the ability to do what ever I wanted with my life.

I wanted and wanted and wanted until it all seemed so overwhelming that I then wanted to become Zen Buddhist and stop wanting anything at all.

I then decided to boil it down to one thing that would drastically improve my life, financial freedom.

This freedom would be achieved through my efforts online, so I decided to step it up and exactly the opposite happened, the few dollars that I was making became a few cents.

This was the kind of setback that used to really slow me down. Now I just remain calm and keep on thinking and working.

I figured it out. I would stop focusing on the money and just provide a great product for the end consumer. I would give and give and expect nothing in return and that thought process brings me to this point.

I will completely stop worrying about any of the financial gains that my online efforts are bringing me until I know that I have reached enough of an audience to make a difference. This is how my thoughts on the subject changed to overcome this obstacle.

So that is why I called this article, time to change your thinking. It is about knowing what you want and if one path does not get you to that goal, it only means that it’s time to take another path. Even if that includes changing fundamental ideas, like how your view your life.

I have been watching a few people on YouTube get successful and that has inspired me to copy their techniques. They start their online YouTube careers only doing what they love part time. They dream of making it a career but in reality they are only doing it for fun and that makes a better experience for their viewers.

This means that as long as the product is good, your audience will like it and end up helping to share it.

So change your thinking and you will end up changing your life.

P.S. I do apologize if the story about myself is a bit uninspired, but it really helps me to get out of a writers block when I just start writing about absolutely anything that I can think of.

Staying Motivated by Watching Inspirational Videos

Staying motivated and focused has always been a bit of a problem for me. As you probably already know, I like to watch motivational videos online. It is probably not the best use of my time, but it is far greater than sitting and watching something that is not going to get me moving like these inspirational videos do.

I also want to share them all with you. They are full of great words of wisdom that if we can properly take into our hears, will will become better people.

A lot of them are going to make you feel all of those feelings that you have been avoiding for your entire life.

It happened to me so make sure that you are by yourself and distracted by nothing else while watching these.

Have a great day and stay strong my friends.

Money Doesn’t Buy Pleasure – Alan Watts

During my various studies to find out the true meaning in life. I have came across a lot informational videos on the subject. One speaker that I am fascinated with is Alan Watts.

There are hundreds of motivational and inspirational speakers out there and all of them are very good at what they do, but not one of them comes close to the true understanding of human nature, reality and well being like Alan Watts has.

Please close your eyes while this great lecturer speaks. Let every word, phrase, and sentence be properly absorbed by your mind and understood to its fullest extent.

I hope that you find this enlightening and helps to clearly define your path to happiness.

What Do I Want?

So what do I want? To be more specific, what do you want? This question is not as easily answerable as you might think. It is more complex than, I want a new car, or I want a hotter wife. It is the question that you base your entire life around. It is not just about what you want right now, it is about how you plan on living the rest of your life.

Because of the fact that your entire life could revolve around taking the time to answer this simple little question, you better give it some deep thought. I don’t just mean a quick little ponder either. You are going to have to seriously meditate on this little question.

There is no easy way to answer it either. Let me give you same tips on how to properly answer it.

Tip #1 You are going to have to think about what you would do if money wasn’t a problem. If you automatically had enough money to do whatever made you happiest in life, what would you be doing?

Would you be outside taking pictures of birds? Perhaps you might prefer to spend your time on an off road motorcycle flying through the countryside at high speeds. Some people would say that they would just want to sit in front of the television all day long, eating deliciously unhealthy food and only getting off of their lardy butts to use the bathroom.

Well, do that. If it makes you happy, do it. Don’t worry about money, it will come later. If you become great at whatever you do, it will make you money eventually.

Tip #2 Who do you want to be? Well, obviously you can only be you, but who do you want to be like? Is there a favorite rock star, motocross rider, fitness model, theoretical physicist or TV host that you really admire? Find out how they got to where they are. Then copy what they did to get there.

It may sound simple, but it really isn’t. I can guarantee that anyone who became successful didn’t get there easily. Some people are handed fortunes as soon as they are born, but that’s not you. You are going to have to earn everything that you want.

Tip#3 Start writing down ideas. Keep a little pad of paper and a pen in your pocket. This way, whenever you get inspiration about “What do I want?” you can quickly jot it down.

At the end of the day, when you empty your pockets, read the notes that you wrote. It will feel like your subconscious is trying to tell you exactly what you want to know. Those notes will come randomly and sporadically, so be sure to keep that pen ready for them to strike.

Those are just a few hints to think about while you try to figure out what you want most in life.

So lets stop thinking for a second and put a gun against your head.

Now, while life has this gun to your head, and its finger in the trigger, i’m going to ask you something. Listen carefully because you really don’t want to get this wrong.

If you had to spend all day out of the house, what would you want to do?

It seems like an easy question,  but lets think about it. You are only allowed to come home to sleep, you have to be outside from sunrise to sunset. What are you going to do?

What I would do, is ride my motorcycle. I have actually made a motovlog about doing just that. If you like shameless plugs, you should really check out my latest video about how it feels to ride a motorcycle. That is how I am going to turn my beloved hobby into a career.

What do you Stand for?

What are you passionate about? What makes you angry? What makes you want to destroy the planet? What aspects of life do you feel need to change?

What i’m trying to ask is, do you have a cause? You know that there are things worth fighting for, right? Find a cause. Maybe you already have one. Maybe you know someone who is standing up for and fighting for what they believe in. You could make your life worthwhile and find out what you want if you know that you have a cause worth fighting for.

Many of historys greatest figures are all freedom fighters. They all had causes that they fought for. Poverty, illegal taxation, war, homelessness, gay rights, womens rights, equal rights for all races. Those are just a few causes that created the monumental figures of Susan B, Anthony, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, Mahatma Ghandi, Mother Theresa, and the list of names goes on for miles.

If you want to really find your lifes purpose and answer the question that we are all wondering, then you may want to find a cause that is worth fighting for.

This is not the end thought. The answer is always changing and evolving. I sincerely hope that you stay on top of your dreams and have the discipline to get it done.

Alan Watts – Philosopher, Spiritualist, Genius, and Inspiration

Alan Watts PhilosophyI have recent stumbled across a genius of momentous proportions. He has probably come closer to spiritual enlightenment than anyone that I have ever heard of.

His name is Alan Watts. I don’t know much about him other than what he has said and what he has said expanded my perceptions of reality.

He’s just that good. I wanted to make this little post just to share with all of you the genius of Alan Watts. I hope that the mental journey he takes you through is as wonderful as mine was.

I Need Motivational Music

So you wanna get pumped eh? Wanna get that primal energy? Are you looking for the kind of natural high that only truly powerful music can give?

Look no further my friend. I have your motivational music fix right here. This is what gets me going and keeps me going. I can power through anything while listening to this.

Thrash Metal Motivational Music

My first selection to power up your inner beast is a fine selection of thrash metal. This is a medley from some of the finest names in the business. Your parents might not understand this development in music, but you know that the music of your generation is much more powerful than theirs.

Epic Cinematic Orchestral Motivational Music

Second on my list of motivational music is cinematic orchestral music. I found this by typing “Epic Music” in to the Youtube. This is what I use for writing and coding. There are no lyrics to get distracted by so you dont need to think about it all.

The only problem with cinematic motivational music is that, if you listen to it while doing mundane tasks, such as the laundry, it is going to make the rest of your life with out this music seem extremely dull.

I know it’s not for everyone. All that I ask is that you give it a try for at least 20 minutes. You will either agree with me or call me an idiot. Either way, at least I got you to open your mind a little bit.

Dubstep Motivational Music

This is a bit of a tricky subject. I know that a lot of people don’t understand and even hate the new genre of Dubstep. I might be a bit of a freak when I say this, but I put it in the headphones and it helps me drown out every thought except the ones that I need to focus on one project.

This particular track that I picked for all you motivationally deprived head bangers is by one of my personal favorites in the scene. Mr. Flux Pavilion!

He absolutely obliterates people minds with his music. Even after I found this track to add to this article I had to grab my head phones and plug into this experience.

Even after just listening to the intros to some of these songs I get pumped. The ideas flow through my neural transmitters and the action that turns thought into reality becomes effortless.

Please enjoy these tracks but remember, stay focused on the right project. Many good hours have been lost to Minecraft while this music motivated me to create an entire empire.
